Gus was most helpful from the moment I enquired about travel dates and the itinerary, to recommendations on things to do/where to go with the extra days I had planned. Egypt is his second home, so he has the best ideas and recommendations.
Gus ensured our trip to Egypt was seamless - he had arranged for a meet & greet representative to assist us with our VISA applications to guiding us through the airport, customs/borders and onto our hotel transfer. Gus even arranged for a pre-tour meal so the group could meet in a more relaxed environment - over a meal and drinks to get to know one another before the tour commenced. You can expect heaps of fun, excitement and laughter to becoming a part of a family sharing the love and fascination of Egypt. We loved it so much that it was sad to say goodbye when the tour came to an end. The tour was absolutely amazing - we had an Egyptologist guide, Ebram, who accompanied us throughout the duration of the tour - providing us with lots of information - he was so knowledgeable and passionate.
I thoroughly enjoyed every site/place we visited - and in particular, the 5 nights onboard the Kemet Dahabiya yacht - so luxurious and spacious with an awesome crew and private chef delivering delicious traditional Egyptian meals. We were well looked after by Gus throughout the trip - he ensured we had plenty of snacks and drinks while travelling in our private vehicle to even paying for our toilet visits! He converses fluently in Arabic and is a tremendous helper when bargaining in the local bazaars! Gus' time management and organisation skills made the trip stress-free and very safe.

“I've just returned from a couple wonderful weeks in Egypt and I have Egypt Adventures Travel and Gus to thank. The details that go into a trip like this could be overwhelming, but we benefited from Gus's organization, planning, knowledge, language fluency, and contacts.
The tour was well paced with interesting things to do every day and enough relaxation time. We also had the flexibility to add on a couple of days in the desert.
Our Egyptologist, Ebram Melles, traveled everywhere with us. He is very knowledgeable and well-prepared. He made the history of each site easier to understand.
We did all the things we always imagined in Egypt-- pyramids, camels, tombs, statues, museums (including the finally open Grand Egyptian Museum). We spent several days traveling the Nile by the Kemet dahabeya, a particularly lovely and peaceful sailboat. The accommodations were comfortable and the staff was fantastic. Our onboard meals were better than those we had in restaurants and provided a wide variety of dishes.
After 12 days or so, my husband and I parted ways with our fellow group members and set off on our own to Tunis Village in the Fayoum desert west of Giza. Gus arranged through another company for us to have transportation, reservations and guides. Tunis Village is a center for ceramics art and a very rustic little town. The highlight for us was a trip to Wadi al-Hitaan where we could see the desert up close. The special thing about Wadi al-Hitaan is that there are bones of whales! With feet! It was so amazing to be there and see them.
Really, we needed a guide in Egypt from the minute we started thinking about it and we are so happy that we chose Egypt Adventures Travel. Gus was the perfect host and guide.”

“Gus does one of the best tour experiences you’re going to ever find. There's a few things that set Gus apart. His passion and enjoyment of helping people experience Egypt the best that they can. I’m a big guy and I knew going into this trip I couldn't do everything, but Gus and his wonderful Egyptologist he had with us (Ebram) were so helpful in knowing not just Egyptian history, but also the things people don't think about...like there's a bench around the corner or drink more water.
Gus also checks out what he's gonna do on the tours himself first. Like Kemet which was the Dahabeya we sailed down the Nile on which was truly a highlight of our trip. The crew was just as amazing as the food. He even stays a night at the hotels we are using. His tours are also LGBT friendly but that doesn't mean you have to be part of that community to choose Gus as we had 3 married straight couples on our tour and one even brought their mom from Brazil. Gus goes the extra mile to really make sure people are safe and have fun. We had security with us on excursions and he even has someone that is with you start to finish at the airport, so you’re never alone, which takes the stress out of stuff like getting visas, tipping, customs, even just getting to your hotel. I did this as a solo traveler and had a wonderful time. I feel like Gus is an old friend that I just ran into and would go with his travel experiences again.
